Nissan Xterra Recall
Recall is being ordered when the vehicle has defects or faulty system. Report
said that Nissan Motor Co. recalled almost 143,000 Frontier pick up trucks and
Xterra SUV. All these vehicles come from 2001 and 2002 model year. A recall has
been issued due to faulty wheel bearings, engine controllers and fuel valves.
After noticing that the engine control system experience power throttle during
full acceleration in low temperatures or when the engine is not fully warmed up,
due to a faulty program tripped an engine safety system after large amount of
air goes into the engine, Nissan issued recall for 2002 Frontiers and Xterra.
Involved in this recall are 5,000 units.
Also, Nissan is recalling at least 143, 000 four-wheel drive Frontiers and Xterras for 2001
mode year. This
recall has been issued because water gets into the rear axle via a badly sealed
anti-lock brake sensor, causing the bearing to produce rust and to possibly break.
In Nissan's next recall, owners are being requested to return 40,000 Frontiers
and Xterras made from October 2000 to January 2001. It has been discovered that
in these units, the fuel tank valve allows gasoline spill when filling in high
temperatures or if winter-grade fuel is utilized. The fuel tank inlet shutter
valve doesn't meet the sealing performance specification.
