2005 Nissan Xterra

The 2005 Nissan Xterra comes with lots of improvements. It sports additional power, more space and tons of excellent features, as well as improved off-road performance systems. The styling of 2005 Xterra gives it a more appealing, more powerful and more practical looks. Nice styling touches in Xterra's exterior include big, flare fenders and a new multi-purpose roof rack with a latchable lid. It has a new bumper design with side steps providing easy access to the roof rack. Xterra also comes with a huge, prevailing and great hoods and headlights. It can easily be distinguished through the Nissan signature angle strut-style grille.

For a smoother ride and wider interior space, 2005 Xterra's wheelbase is increased by two inches. It comes with a reduced front overhang that boosts its handling and maneuverability in off-road driving. Xterra also receives 2.5 inches increase in its width and its height has been added by 1.9 inches.

Unlike all other Xterras, 2005 Xterra is built in a new platform. It is now made with a fully boxed, all-steel ladder frame and put in a steel double-wishbone front suspension mated with a stabilizer bar and firm leaf spring suspension. Xterra Off-Road model comes with a high-performance gas shocks. 2005 Xterra also receives improved ground clearance and neat underbody to guard the components against off-road impediments.

This year's Nissan Xterra is motorized by a standard 4.0-liter DOHC V6 that breathes 250-plus horsepower and 270-plus lb-ft torque. This engine is mated with superior features like Electronic Throttle Control, Continous Valve Timing Control, Nissan variable Induction Control System, molybdenum-coated pistons, silent timing chain and micro finished camshaft and crankshaft surfaces. Also included are lightweight aluminum block, muffler with high capacity, spark plugs with platinum tip and digital knock control system.

2005 Xterra has lots of safety features. Among them are Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones, Nissan Advanced Air Bag System and 3-point front seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters. It also has LATCH and supplemental curtain air bags for side-impacts and rollover protection.
