2003 Nissan Xterra
For drivers who want to own a competent, utilitarian sport utility vehicle, Nissan
Xterra is a very ideal choice! Since it is made on a truck frame, it doesn't assure
you of a carlike handling. It isn't also a luxury vehicle and is less sophisticated.
However, there are lots of remarkable features that distinguish Xterra from any
other compact sport-utility vehicles.
Maintaining Xterra's reputation of being a cool SUV, 2003 Nissan Xterra provides
a good off road performance. It has a very large room for your cargo and is reasonably
priced to attract the buyers! It comes even more cool with a supercharged V6 engine
and an enhanced interior and design.
The 2003 Nissan Xterra comes anew with standard electronic brake distribution
(EBD), traction control, skid control, a stronger engine and a tire and pressure
monitoring system. It is offered in two trims - XE and SE, with three available
engines - a four-cylinder, a V6 and a supercharged V6. A two - or four-wheel drive
options are offered for V6 models.
For this year, Xterra comes with a rigid, more refined, no frills and smooth
feel. It runs quietly at free way speeds and sways with guts and leans in every
curve. Also, it has a very good steering especially on straight-line drive. Xterra
has a big, vertical rear window that provides exceptional visibility. It collects
dust and dirt extremely, the reason why all Xterra models come with standard rear
wiper/washer.
Its suspension handles bumps excellently and works nicely on washboard gravel
roads. Xterra's front suspension is via double wishbones, the rear is composed
of leaf springs with solid axle while the power steering is through a recirculating
ball. It shares with Frontier's strong and well-built ladder type frame.
The four-speed automatic transmission of Nissan Xterra shifts up and down efficiently.
It is also offered with a choice of limited-slip rear differential to provide
additional traction in off-road travels. The four-wheel antilock brakes are powerful
and the electronic brake distribution enhances the vehicle's stability and balances
brake force from front to rear to help lessen the stopping distances.
