2000 Nissan Xterra

Xterra is a new sport utility vehicle from Nissan that shares with the Frontier's
pick-up truck platform. It is a cool and rugged SUV that comes in two trim levels
- XE and SE and has three optional packages - Sport, Power and Utility. These
Xterra versions come in two- or four-wheel drive, powered by a 4-cylinder or V-6
and have 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmissions.
The base XE is motorized by 2.4-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine teamed with five-speed
manual transmission while the SE is offered with standard V6 engine and four speed
automatic.
2000 Nissan Xterra's outstanding features include power plugs for accessories
in the front and rear and console cup holders with openings for handles. It also
boasts of quick, responsive brakes with standard ABS; a "shirt pocket" holder
on the left side of the seats that holds sunglasses, cell phone or wallet and
a large cargo area. Its light lift gate has an exterior bulge or "backpack pod"
that houses first aid kit or windbreaker. The folding rear seats increases its
luggage capacity.
Xterra's interior is somewhat, properly, simple. It has basic switchgear like
rotary knobs and average-size buttons and digital displays. Its air conditioning
unit is superb and the six-speaker CD is very fulfilling. Like any other Xterra,
it also has chunky tubular aluminum roof rack and matching step rails; chubby
fender flares, muscular alloy wheels, hefty charcoal grille and front bumper having
a huge radiator vents and low-level halogen fog lights. It is built in a 104.3
inches wheelbase with an overall length of 178 inches. It has an average mileage
of 16 m.p.g. in the city and 19 m.p.g. in the highway.
